Update on Nuvaring/Mirena

Well my insurance denied both.  I had to call and fight them, then contact my benefit administrator.  The catholic charities who own our facility does not pay for birth control...  but I've had it covered for 5 yrs now due to PCOS/hormone problems...  but they have a plan exclusion for anything (nuvaring & mirena) that is inserted vaginally.  ANYWAY... I paid for nuvaring out of pocket. Put it in Saturday and now I have had the urge to eat whatever I can get my hands on.  Is that normal?  Today its much better...  I am getting the Mirena in about a month so hopefully that will not be an ongoing issue...

I'm not sure about the eating with the NuvaRing...but wish you luck getting your Mirena.  It did well for me when I had it.  I did have some funky periods for a few months after it was inserted but then after about 4 months in my periods stopped all together.  Good luck!
