more bad newsbirth control pills any thoughts?

well Ive had 3 periods since my endometrial ablasion last may, so they did an ultrasound on me to see whats going on in there, and now I have "lots" of fibroid tumors in there.  My thyroid is also low so they will put me on meds for that, but they want to treat the fibroids with birth control pills, and im pretty much terrified they will slow my weight loss, its a low dose pill but I am worried that like in the past the birth control pill will make me gain weight. anyone had to get on them post wls whats the verdict if so...
