I am curious if anyone else suffers from boil type sores on their private parts and their butt area. i've had them for a long time. they are getting better but i can't find a treatment for them. does anyone else know how to reduce them in size? they come and go but they always come again lol. thanks.

Do you have pcos? Because if you do then that's what they are from. I get them all the time. Actually I have one that never ever goes away. There really isn't much that you can do for them. Except do not shave down there and make sure you keep it extra clean and make sure that you never leave any soap down there or use any deodorant down there because it will irritate it and sometimes infect it even more. If one of these sores bursts and leaves a hole (it hurts really bad and clear smelly liquid comes out) Make sure you let warm to ho****er run through the hole...just pat dry with a paper towel or something because, believe me you don't want the hole to get infected! If you have any other questions just email me. I have dealt with these for so long!

seems like a comon problem that is never talked about.. thanks for posting this! ...  I agree.. shaving there is BAD. learned the hard way after hubby talked me into it..lol I get them once in a while.. the first time it really freaked me out and I went to my OBGYN to make sure i was not infected with Herpes or something like that...  She told me not to worry that it was just a hair follicle infected. But tested me for all STDs anyway just to be safe. ... I didn't think it was a hair follicle though.. seemed like a bump on its own... all my tests came back negative so now I don't worry about it much.  I never have gotten them on my butt though.. just groin area.  I also seem to get a lot of acne on my back that gets infected as well.. I am hoping losing weight will take care of all this icky skin problems

Yep part of PCOS (weight & friction in 'certain' areas).  It is real common to see bartholin cysts too.  I remember the OB/GYN I office I worked in the doctor cut several of these open.  Shaving bad idea, try nair for areas you want bare... not on sores ofcourse. (this was in reference to someone post of shave bumps/ingrown hairs.)  I never had hair in certain areas belly, boobs, butt but now with the additional weight damn the testosterone is kicking my butt, how attractive, right?   I would never admit this to people that think I am pretty and do not know what I am hiding

Do you find that you have more acne too?  I know that is a side effect too.  But as a teen I hardly ever had any but now dang you can play dot-to-dot on my face!

OMG I totally have experienced the same thing! Some days I feel so gross, I am so glad I am not the only one.

What a great post! I have had these boils for years on groin, butt, face pretty much everywhere. They have left marks that drives me nuts..after I was diagnosed with PCOS I then was able to put together the pieces. This is caused by PCOS! I used Metformin and that seems to really help. I used to get these even under my arms! I am so glad I finally have answers.

i have had some cysts or somethign from time to time and usually they would swell and swell untill it was painful to even sit down and I would lance them on my own, but they never left a hole of any kind nor got infected, once lanced they just went away after a day or two.  My doctor so far have had no idea, but then they thought the brown grey patches and skin tags were just "weird skin" also, now I am going to a better gyno and hopefully will get some better treatment options and stuff

Wow!!  I also have PCOS & these cysts.  This post and all your comments have helped me so much!  I thought I was the only one with this problem & I didn't even connect it to PCOS.  I work at OB/GYN & asked they Drs. I work for.  They have been practicing for 30+ years & found it interesting that we are relating the cyst with PCOS.  I also didn't have acne as teen but started as an adult.  I've been going to the Dermotologist for 12+ years & was never informed of the relationship with PCOS either!  Wow.  I feel so relieved reading this post.  Thank you so much.  Best wishes to you all. - Sarah
