Hey all!

Ive been seeing some commercials on TV about this drug. This is a brief description of it.

Vaniqua

Vaniqua cream is a medication applied to the skin for the reduction of unwanted facial hair in women. Vaniqua interferes with an enzyme found in the hair follicle of the skin needed for hair growth. This results in slower hair growth and improved appearance where Vaniqua is applied.

Anyone using it, want to use it? Id love to hear about it. Any experiences, please let me know!

Hi,  I had only tried Vaniqa for about a month when it first came out on the market about 6 years ago. I think it did help a little but I didn't stay on it long enough to know for sure. It was too expensive and insurance doesn't cover it at all. It only works after waxing, electrolosis or laser hair removal.. It doesn't work very well if your just shaving. You have to damage the root first to get the best result. As soon as you stop using it. The hair returns. I paid $98 for one tube. THe dermatologist that I have now told me you really need to be on it for more than 3 months for it to really work well.

Whoa! Thats a lot of money. Thank you so much for the heads up! Its something I'll look into after laser removal.Army insurance does pay for some of those things, just not sure of the extent of it because I havent done all my research. Before I do anything Im going to be sure to research everything! Seems like theres no miracle cure. They have rogaine, to grow hair. You figure stopping it wouldnt be so hard! lol.

its also possible that there is a generic now you should check with your pharmacy and check walmart its probably unlikely but they do have that 4 dollar program for alot of drugs maybe its on there?  we could hope... as I posted elsewhere the only thing so far that Ive used thats lessened the hair growth is an epilator device it hurts like hell too but it does seem to lessen my growth pattern

I used it for a long time... tubes were about $50 at walmart... $46 exactly I think.  But then stopped using it... then started back again when my hormones kicked into high gear and hair started coming fiercely...  it started working again within a week...  but you need to use it for about a month to notice if you just start.  I could tell though in a week. I use it with laser hair removal and spironolactone.  Not just by itself.
