Calling Successful Post-Op Mommies
Hi Alison,
I too am a post-op mommy. I have PCOS and Insulin Reistance and my husband and I tried unsuccessfully for 2 1/2 years to have a baby. I had RNY on 4/24/06 and was told that I needed to wait 1 year before trying to get pregnant, in the mean time I kept track of my periods and ovulation-I actually ovulated now that I had the surgery. We waited until my 1 year check up and got the approval and boom it happened the first month and now I have my beautiful girl Chloe Elizabeth. She was born January 15th 2008 and is a healthy happy little girl.
I wish you all the best and keep us posted when that day happens.
God Bless,
Courtney

hi. all i can tell you is that w/ my pcos and getting my period maybe once a year, i never had worries about getting pregnant. following my arrival at my goal weight (and still a very infrequent period) i wound up pregnant with my 1st child. i was not planning on getting pregnant at the time, as my boyfriend (now my husband) and i were just planning our wedding.
i wanted to get pregnant again right away... i tried and tried and tried and NOTHING. we were at the point of going to a fertility dr.....
i had gained so much weight (64lbs) in my pregnancy that it took me almost 2 years to get it off... i went back to my goal weight and BAM! i was pregnant again (exactly 2 years and 2 days later). again i gained almost 60lbs during pregnancy and i am back struggling to lose the weight.
i know i want another baby and it seems that my body is waiting for me to be at a healthy weight. so back to the basics... diet and exercise.
that's my story, since you asked.
good luck to you!!!! love and baby wishes!!!!
