LapBand/PCOS
I had gastric bypass... PCOS meds never worked for me and caused me so many issues this surgery was my last hope... I'm almost 5m out and I'm down 80 pounds and at 260 now... all my PCOS blood tests came back normal at 3ms...
I am very thankful that I was turned down by my insurance company for the lap-band because I never could of stayed away from the sugar sodas... that was my weakness... but I also didn't know that I could have those things after surgery either... unlike gastric bypass...
But, I have met a lot of women who lost some weight, stuck to all the rules and worked out that had lapband and just never got close to their goal weight because of the PCOS... and there are some that this worked great for them...
But, before you have RnY... make a list of things you will HAVE to change... to maybe see why the lapband didn't work for you so that way you are successful with the next surgery...

I have PCOS and I just had some cysts burst on me the other weekend, along with a UTI (not had one in 10 years) also the runs. Not a funm weekend. Anyway I have lost 30 pounds since my surgery which was June 20th of 2007. I am still satisfied with my weight loss because the scale does continue to go down slowly but surely. I have lost a total of 41 pounds now. I have short term goals and by the way have only recently had restricition and I only have 1.8 ccs in a 10 cc band. My symptoms have lessoned although being honest, I had 2 lollipops today because of Valentines day yesterday and having my period now. I basicaly had to go to sleep, must have had a insulin rush. Now I feel like I am hung over. So plain and simple if you don't follow the rules it ain't gonna happen. I feel like a new person having lost 41 pounds since last year and I am continuing on my journey. I know I didn't get this way overnite but I am sure gonna keep going. I wish you the best with your revision. Good luck to you.
Ive had my band for a montha nd have lost 20 pounds already. I have never been a big sweets eater and have watched carbs for years as I am also diabetic so choosing lapband over RNY was no question for me.
