RioMet

Have any of you taken RioMet?  This is the liquid version on metformin. I just left a message for my doctor to see if she could call this in for me. I have been on metformin for years, but since having the lap-band I haven't been taking the correct dose because I have to break the pills up.

Hi, I currently take Riomet, I told my doctor about the trouble I was having with the pills and she prescribed it for me. I have the pharmacy add a flavor shot, it's not unbearable to take but I was holding my nose to take it,  It took a few days for my body to adjust to it, but I was having so much trouble with the pills. My doc just called it in for me. How bad is the taste? Should I just go ahead and have them add the flavor shot?

It's not too bad... it has a slightly bitter "perfume" taste to me, but I'm funny about taste. The flavor shot helped me a great deal I liked Raspberry. after I take it I follow it with water.

So I got my Riomet...it is so nasty. I had asked the pharmacy about adding the flavor shot. She called the company and said that they had no information on the compatability of the flavor shot. Apprently there is a formula on how it is to be added. I wonder how your pharmacy was able to do it?

LOL,,, yes it is interesting  I use CVS pharmacy and the technician asked the pharmacist and they where able to do it with no issues, it definitely helps.... not that it makes it delicious or anything but more bearable.   Before I would pinch my nose close and drink it and immediately drink water to get rid of the taste try that it,  you will get use to it over time.
