PCOS and pregnancy - did it go away??

Lapbander here who has been diagnosed with PCOS for about 7-8 years now.  Had middle belly weight, facial hair growth issues and irregular periods.  Was never prescribed metformin though.  Was told that I would need to take fertility drugs to get preggo.

I didn't use any contraception with my husband for two years and (luckily) got pregnant.  Had gestational diabetes when pregnant (not surprizing!).  My son is now 4.  Ever since my son was born, I am completely and totally regular every month now (even before lapband surgery).  Wonder if this has happened to anyone else?  I still have some PCOS issues, but they aren't as severe as they were since losing weight.

Just wanted to give you all hope that if you want to get preggo and have PCOS it's not impossible.  I also know 3 other women who have had successful pregnancies and were PCOS.  Only one of those 3 had to take fertility drugs.

Congrats!  I noticed that my PCOS symptoms went away for the most part once my weight was down.  I don't have AF anymore due to having an IUD...but when I didn't have the IUD I was regular....36 days like clockwork (after WLS of course).  I am another PCOSer that got pregnant without medication after surgery.  Thanks to my WLS I'm a mom!  I love it!  My DD is 15m now and is just the light of my life. Anyway...congrats! Kristy

I have PCOS and took Clomid to get pregnant with my son. After he was born I never lost all of my weight. The extra weight made my PCOS symptoms worse. Be glad yours went away.
