PCOS and success?
I am new but just read from a lot of people that have PCOS that they are having a hard time losing on the Lap Band.
Anyone here that is contrary to this? Have you lost a good amount of weight on the Lap Band even though you were diagnosed with PCOS?
I'd really love to hear from you -- it would really help.
I'm not a lap bander but I wanted you to know that I had RNY 5 years ago and lost 217lbs, I've kept all but 27lbs off and have started loosing again (I've gotten back on track). Having PCOS makes loosing more of a struggle than those who don't have PCOS but it's not imposible for sure.
Good luck to you!

I'm not a lap bander however I had RNY June 5th of this year and have lost 94lbs.
I was diagnosed with PCOS in 1998 and was on metformin till 3 weeks ago--Now I'm off the metformin, regular periods and I've gone from a size 24 to a 12!!
I struggled between the band and RNY and after researching for several months and meeting my Doctor I went with the RNY and I'm thankful everyday for Dr Roslin.
Here's a bit of the research materials I found on RNY, band and PCOS--I hope it may help you.
