I just got back from a seminar and I dont know if this helps or your doctor told you cause i didnt know. The doctor told me that a lap band take about 4-5 years to lose as much weight as a RNY a normal lap band loss is 1-2 pounds a week.  Ask your doctor is you can take sipronolactone, as I take that and it helps with the weight, may be its an option.  I know its frustrating this battle, and Ihave to say that I was really surprised the doctor said it would take that long on a lap band I never knew.

Hi. I have the band and hate it! I actually need to make an appt to go and talk to my doctor about having the RNY done. I have been diagnosed with PCOS.  I had my surger 12/8/04 - lost 122lbs I had a slip on 11/8/05... gained 50lbs. Havent moved a damn bit since...  I'm still a size 14/16. And really could cry. My husband doesnt want me having the RNY, but I think for my own well being... I may go against his wishes and do it anyways! Sara P.S. trying to convince number 1 (been two years)

I have PCOS, and the LapBand... I've lost 90 pounds with it, but the wieghtloss stopped/slowed down wayyyy slow when I started the Depo shot. Now that it's finally clearing out of my system, I'll see how it goes.
