BAD DAY
Soooooooooooooooooo...what a week!
I was supposed to be in the process of taking acutane for VERY painful cystic acne and boils after trying to get it prescribed to me for a few years. Ive been dealing with the acne since I was 17.
Long story short, I was so irratated at the egining of the week because I took my first run of labs about 3 weeks ago and they were never faxed to my dermatologist.
So I finaly get it taken care of, take the blood work again and the dermatologist call's today to inform me that my liver enzymes were high and therefore they can not put me on the medicine I have been praying for, for years!
Now I have to wait god knows how long to get an appointment with my PCP and find out what's wrong...and I sure hope they find out what's wrong SOON being that my number is getting REALLY close and Im sure that if there's some issue with my liver it will hold up my surgery as well...
Brandi~
Brandi, I'm sorry you had such a rough day. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make it all better for you. Question on the liver...do you take a lot of Tylenol or acetaminophen based products?? Most people don't realize that those meds can affect their liver. I had a Tylenol overdose and it did minimal damage, but enough to always effect my tests. Have you started a pre-op diet yet? Sometimes that can have an affect on your liver as well...in a positive way. High protein, low refined carbs, etc. I hope you get this figured out soon and that it's a simple issue. Do you have a surgery date yet??
For Mom, and Kelly

Thank you for the info about the tylenol...I have hypogleximia and frequent headaches come along with that so I take tylenol on a daily basis!
I have nor started the pre surgery diet yet...my number is about 30 a way so I should be getting called in a couple weeks or so for my pre op testing and what not...
I will keep everyone posted...thank you for the info. I was really worred ( still am ) because my younger sister just got diagnosed with NASH a liver condition/diease that I DO NOT want...I have enough medical problems and they are like domino affects...If I have the condition Im affraid it will interfere with my surgery which will in turn interfer with other medical problems Im trying to fix by having the surgery...
Thank you so much

sorry you had such a ruff day, hopefuly it will all work it self out. i noticed you said boils, do you have these under your arm pits, in your groin area or underr your breast? or just on the face. there is a skin disease that is associated with pcos and its called hidrenditis supportiva (not sure if its the correct spelling) but you coul put a google search for "fox den disease" and get the right name.
