A diet that is lower in refined carbs & higher in protein has always helped PCOSers but it can take some time & tweeking to find the diet that's right for you. Never give up on your dream of being a mom! It took me 10 years to be a mom. I went through 8+ years of failed fertility treatments including clomid (200mg) and injectables w/ IUI before having WLS. At 16m post op we went without protection...boom...pregnant. So...NEVER GIVE UP!
The post op prego board here is good...but have you also checked out www.soulcysters.com ? It's a support/information website for women with PCOS. They have all kinds of forums covering topics from depression/acne/diet/fertility...it's an awesome website! If you check it out (it's a free to join website) you can post on the diet/exercise forum and all the ladies on there will be more than willing to help! Good luck!!
i know this is easier said then done, but patience and prayer are key here. it took my husband and i 4 and a half years just to get pregnant. we finally had our baby july (07). it took lots of patience and trial and error for us. before i was pregnant (2005-2006) my weight was 250 i went on the south beach diet...just like the message above says low carbs and more protein...i lost 30 lbs and it stayed off. then i stopped "dieting" just kinda followed the rules of the diet and maintained my weight at 230lbs for a year. then my husband and i decided to buy a treadmill and i started the diet again...(at this time i had started clomid and was my 2 cycle of it and taking metformin) i lost 5 more lbs and then gained it back for no apparent reason (i was excerising religoulsy and dieting) and found out we were pregnant. if you like you can also try southbeachdiet.com and read a little bit it basically just teaches us to eat the "right carbs" and it only limits us to none for two weeks.
good luck and remember patience and prayer. and i will pray for you...
thanks
