Hello Everyone... I am two  months out....My OB/GYN has suggested I try the Nuvaring vs birth control pills to keep from getting pregnant for the next 16 months.  I am wondering If anyone has tried this option?   Thanks,  Jen

I've never had the nuvaring, but because the hormones are transmitted transdermally instead of being absorbed via the intestines it would be much more effective than the pill.  I was on the patch after surgery (not recommended....sooooo much more estrogen than you really need).  If you've already had kids you might want to check out the Mirena IUD as well...that's what I have now and I love it...no muss...no fuss... Love the Nuvaring. Its excellent in my opinion. No pills to remember, you get a consistent dose of hormones. Been on it for 6 months with no problems. Would highly suggest it. From what I hear we cant absorb the pills and TONS of WLS patients go on the Nuvoring.
