That after WLS to get pregnant if you had PCOS before the surgery. Just curious, im 32 and have never been pregnant and someone told me that after I have WLS that I would more than likely be able to have a child. Is that true?

Yes, many people with PCOS have it because of their weight. Once you lose a good amount of weight it may go away. After WLS you have to wait a certain amount of time to get pregnant anyway. I had Lapband on 7/18 and I have to wait 12-18 months.

Absolutely!  I have PCOS...and for 8 years tried to get pregnant before I had surgery.  At 16 months post op I got pregnant our first month not using protection.  So...it CAN happen!  In fact having a baby was my main reason for having surgery.  Getting rid of the excess weight, diabetes, hypertension & sleep apnea were all perks....lol. Good luck! Kristy

Thanks for posting ladies. I'm going through the same thing. My husband and I have tried to conceive for over 3 years and have been unable to. The main reason I'm doing the surgery is to have a family. The "other perks" are nice too.   Good luck on your journey to be a mommy!
