My periods have been pretty regular except maybe once a year I skip one month. I weigh less than I did last year. I have been tested to see if I am in menapause. I am not in menapause. I have not had a period in four months. Also, I have not ovalulated. Since I was recently diagnoised with PCOS and am diabetic could the metformin have stopped my periods? I use to get one or two pimples once a month and my skin looks better than it has ever looked. I'm 41 and have not had WLS yet. Thank-you, Michelle
If you have PCOS, the Metformin will probably help you have regular cycles. It takes a few months to kick in though. Be patient. If you continue to not have cycles, ask your doc for a script for prometrium, so you can at least induce a cycle every three months. This will cut your risk of endometrial cancer until your cycles resume on their own.
hi there. i'm not sure if it would stop your cycles, but w/ me the doc's put me on it so it would regulate me and it did. it only took a month or two for me to start me regularly. i'm not diabetetic, i had been trying to conceive for 4 years when they finally put me on the drug. and God blessed us with a baby! but just keep patient and if nothing happens then definately talk with your doc. (i was diagnosed 7 years ago and i don't think they had linked the way sugar processes our bodies with pcos...if that makes sense).
