who to see for pcos diagnosis?
About 2 years ago my gyno told me i had PCOS and put me on metformin. I took the med for like 4-5 months, then she told me to stop. She has since closed her practice and I would like to get everything checked so I can make sure Im ok. I have a history of ovarian cysts and regular periods since WLS. Who would you recommend I see, and how do you know if you will need metformin? I would think that losing 70 pounds has since helped. Thanks in advance.

You could either see another OB/GYN who is fairly PCOS savy or you can see an endocrinologist. As for if you need metformin or not...that would be up to you & the doc. They can do a fasting insulin blood test (not be confused with fasting glucose...totally different test) to see if you're still IR or not.
Good luck!
