I posted this on the NEW York board and thought maybe I should post it here as well  I was recently prescribed metformin due to high gloclose levels, it was the first time I saw this endo , Anyway this is my question, recently I started sweating a lot, doesn't matter what I am doing, I can be sitting on my couch with the AC on and just start sweating, its getting so bad that all underneath my hair is actually soaked. It just happened again and this time when I stood up I actually felt lightheaded, I made myself an english muffin and ate that but I still feel weird, Also since on the metformin my levels have been fine or atleast nothing any of the Drs have called me about. Anyway does this sound like anything anyone has expierienced? any ideas...does it mean I have diabetes now? I am so confused and of course no Drs are in till after 3 Thank you all *****ad this. Well since this morning I wound up using my sisters blood test monitor and it was 140...my sister said that was high. I have no clue, Today my husband took me to see my very first Broadway show and I almost didn't get to see it, same thing happened again before the show started. I was soaked by the time i went in. And the more it happened the more freaked I started to get. Anyway my endo wasn't in at all and I just got off the phone with my PCP. The receptionist told me to call again tomorrow but as of now there is nothing available till the 5th of sept, The receptionist brought up the menopausel thing to me and i said i just turned 36...she said I'm too young. Ughhh it's frightening me, I will try the endo again tomorrow. Any of this sound familiar to anyone here, I am sorry for such a long post Gina

I'm not sure about the sweating...but did want to say that a morning sugar of 140 is high.  Normal fasting (for at least 8 hours) blood sugar should be between 70-110 (at it's highest).   Good luck!  I hope you get everything figured out! Kristy

Thank you for the response Kristy, I did speak to my girlfriend who is an RN and she said that was high considering I am on the metforim as well. She also told me sounded like hot flashes, i told her to bite me I was only 36 she said it could be from the combinations of all the different Meds I'm on as well, so now just to wait till I can get into my Dr. talk about feeling old and broken lol

I can see that happening...especially if they are effecting your hormone levels.  Good luck!

I've noticed too since I have been on Metformin that I sweat extra.  It also keeps me up all night.  Has anyone else noticed that it keeps you up at night?
