Is your Metformin too big?
How do u take your Metformin? I was just banded July 18th and my Metformin was changed from extended release to regular. I take 4 at a time right before bed. That seems to be too much for my band with all the water and the halved pills....should I take 1 at a time throughout the day? Any suggestions?
I am not sure about the band part (not banded yet), but when I was on metformin (not extended release), I was taking it 3 times a day. I would think that if it is not XR, then your body would be getting way too much at one part of the day and not enough at other times of the day if you are taking it all at once. I would ask your doctor to make sure.

I have to agree with Laura. If you are NOT taking the XR, you should be spacing your dosage throughout the day (at least typically that it the dosage). It seems like 2000 mg of regular release metformin is a huge amount to be taking at once--especially at bedtime, when you're not going to be eating for 8+ hours. You should definitely check your dosage with your doctor or pharmacist.
