Lap-Band and Glucophage

I was wondering if you fellow PCOS-ers are still taking your Glucophage. I take 1500mg of extended release each day. When I spoke with the nutritionist, she mentioned that I may not be able to take it do to the size of the pills.  What have you others been told who have the lap-band? My surgery is set for 8/17.

Well...I had the RNY done...but I've not been on Glucophage since the day before surgery & have not needed to go back to it.  I'll be  3 years post op on 8/3. Good luck! Kristy

I was on 2000mg of time release before my surgery. I had to switch to the regular ones because they are smaller. Now I am on 4 regular ones a day spread out. The time release are just too big.

I was told no XR also. Regular ones, and I have to crush them. You can't crush the XR at all.

hey i know this is a bit late ..but i didnt start taking mine until AFTER the band was put into place..I am just careful when i take it and i dont have any proglems.i dont know if he size of them are differetn here in aus than they are in the states but sometiems i have issues like it wants to give me a problem but in three seconds it goes down..but most times no worries at all.. hope this helps.
