PCOS and Mirena .... anyone else?

It is so good to know I'm not alone in this world!!  Sometimes I wonder what I did in a former life to derserve all this bullsh*t!  I've been diagnosed with pcos for about 4 years now.  My periods are so out of control my doc suggested an IUD Mirena.  Along with 90 days of  spotting (lovely) it seems my acne is worse than before (I thought it was bad enough dealing with pcos acne).  Anyways, considering I'm hoping to get wls I thought this was a good two for one special with the whole extra fertile thing post op.  Does anyone else find it causes more acne?  GEEEEEE's I can't win.

I'm almost 3 years post op and got my IUD in December...I haven't noticed any extended bleeding or acne.  In fact...my cycles have gone away.  I hope it's a pre op/post op thing...good luck! Kristy

I see a PCOS specialist and he rec an IUD but I decided not to get it (insurance doesn't cover it and not any risk of pregnancy right now) but it was his reco which I highly regard so I say go for it!  I currently take Provera every 3 months to have a period.
