Perod from Hell !!
Greetings Sisters
I am 25 and was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 15. I was prescribed b-control (forgot the name of the pill) and this helped regulate my cycles. As an adult I switched around so many jobs that I wasn't able to take advantage of health insurance and get the proper meds. (part of it was laziness as well) Okay.. moving forward.... I am at a wonderful job, which covers WLS and I am taking full advantage of it , as I got older the health lightbulb flicked on and I decided to take steps to become a healthier me. While going through my WLS journey I found a great gynie who diagnosed me with PCOS (as if I didn't know) When I was younger until current, I would get three periods a year that would last about 2 months. As of recently (within the past 6 months) I have been experiencing horrible acne (which is a symptom, and some darkening in my cheeks (another symptom). I was prescribed Femcon. I got my period within 2 weeks of taking the pills and I must tell you all that this was probably the worst period of my life I usually wear tampons but I could not with the way this period flowed. Ladies, I had to wear 2 pads (overnighters)( during the day, changing them 4 times a day, I felt like I was bleeding out my butt (LOL) the flow was constant and heavy with alot of clots (sorry if I am too graphic) I was always cautious and nervous abiout regular day to day activities. Then one day it just stopped. I am stil taking the Femcon as directed. I called my Gynie and she said that the first 2-3 periods would be like this until the medicine regulates me. I am just curious if anyone has went through this ?
In Advance I Say Thanx,

Over the last 14 years I've been put on possibly every BC pill under the sun.
About 4 months ago I went on YAZ and I LOVE IT!!!
I don't have the excessive bleeding as a matter of fact I only have a period for 2 days!!
There are certain BC pills that work better for PCOS patients if I were you I'd see how you are with another month or two of the Femcon if the periods don't lessen ask either for a new OBGYN or ask your current Doc to put you on YAZ.
All The Best,
Teresa
Jasmin, you are describing my every month, and I am not on any kind of bc. I did notice that there were really major differences, though, in the kinds of pills that I have taken before. Some made it worse, some made it better, and some made me almost psycho, depending on what particular mix of hormones they contained.
Hang in there and give it chance, though. Finding a pill that works for you really is a Godsend, and I'll keep my fingers crossed!
