Just thought I'd introduce myself; I'm Bug, and I've been dx'd with PCOS since 2000 (I'm also a member of SC) Currently I'm not telling family/friends about my decision to have WLS, and am just looking for friends/support on here. Any information/BTDT advice you can give- I'd love to hear it!
Cheers,
Bug

I don't go to SC very often anymore, except to read... you guys look amazing!
hey, how r u? i am pretty new myself and originally joined when i seen about everyone having their surgeries. actually, i just noticed that they had a PCOS forum, which, is great to know and just adds to the greatness of this site! anyway, my name is christie and i live in louisiana. i was also diagnosed with PCOS when DH and i went to find out the reason we could not conceive. it would be nice to talk with you and compare stories....let me know if i can be of any help. talk to u soon!

Hi!
I'd say just read around on this site. Do your research. Check out the book Weight Loss Surgery for Dummimes.
When you're ready, no one will be able to talk you out of it. I was going to keep my surgery a secret and ending up sharing. I was so glad I did. People were surprisingly supportive. My sister especially.
IF you decide to have this surgery, you will have to go for a requisite psychiatric evaluation. Part of the questions will entail finding out if you have a strong post operative support system.
