One of the common side effects of PCOS is the darkened skin around thighs, neck, etc....

After WLS and with some of the PCOS symptoms seemingly get better, do these spots lighten up or go away?

I'm thinking I've  never worried about my thighs before, but now that I"ve lost 50 lbs and more on the way, I'm going to be in a bathing suit more......

thanks for any insight anyone has!

The dark skin spots called acanthosis nigricans is related to an insulin imbalance and DO get better as the weight comes off because the insulin becomes more regulated.  I've also noticed that I've stopped getting new skin tags & my acne is much better.  I still have the facial hair growth...but at least it's not getting worse!  Unfortunately once the hair is there...it's there to stay unless removed.  One more note on the skin thing...my upper inner thighs are still a little discolored...but not nearly as bad as they used to be!  Good luck!  Happy swimsuit shopping!
