I understand I'm going to lose even MORE hair after surgery.  Did anyone who had thinning hair before surgery grow some of it back after the hair loss from surgery ended?

Good question...I'm thinning and just had the lap band.  Hair loss worries me.

I too had very thin hair before surgery. No, it did not grow back for me. At about 4 months out I lost so much hair I was having to use draino in my shower about every five days.......and I was cleaning all I could out of the drain daily. People say it will grow back, and maybe the people who had those nice big beautiful luscious heads of hair did, but not mine! As a matter of fact a year after surgery I decieded ware wigs. I didn't get the nerve to start  wearing them in publi****ill the first of this year. Now I LOVE THEM!!!! I have so much fun with them. I love the ....shall I be Red today? or maybe blond. Oh-no, Let be brown. How about long? or short? Curly? Waves?       You get my point. I have little natural hair. I look kinda like a cupie doll when I pull my wig off. But thats o.k. it is alot better being a 8 & balled than being a 28 and almost bald! Good Luck

I am wondering if it has anything to do with the type of surgery. Bypass allows very little vitamins and nutrients. The Lapband allows a little more.  I have read alot of posts and just like most of what you read, everyone is different and you never know how your body will react.  The best thing to do is drink your protien and take your vitamins and hope for the best.
