If you have used it would you share your experience and the center that you used to have it done?  I am considering having it done and would love to know what type of laser procedures work the best.  Thanks!!!

hi, I see you live in MN, I don't know anything about the Laser Hair Removal Centers there. I am/did have laser hair removal done though and I'm 100% satisfied!!!! I actually posted my experience here some time ago, here's the link: http://obesityhelp.com/forums/polycystic_ovarian_syndrome/a, messageboard/action,replies/board_id,4894/cat_id,4494/topic_ id,3160206/ I've now had my 4th session done (it takes about 6) and I am so happy...... After my 3rd session (the wait in between sessions is usually 6 weeks), I must have shaved (you're only supposed shave in between sessions, no plucking, waxing or depillatories) only 3x. And when I did, the hair is so different, so fine and soft.  I have no more bumps....the area, itself, is so much lighter now.  I'm just truly happy.  And although, I only pay $100 a session, I would have given my right arm for the results I have.  I am a black female, so I made sure my doctor used the YAG laser.  I don't know if the YAG would be necessary for you, though. Hope, I helped. Danielle

I have been through 3 complete cycles of laser hair removal, chin and neck area over the last 7 years.  There are no guarentees becuase of the PCOS...overall the hair is not as coarse and not as dark, but is still there.  It is a more sparce than before.  I will continue to have laser hair removal as long as I can afford it and as long as the hair keeps coming back..  It costs about $600 - $800 per cycle, usually perfromed every 6 - 12 weeks depending on hair growth, and perfromed about 6 times per cycle.   I got the best results from Sona Laser Center, they say they have a lifetime guarentee, so you can continue getting treatments, but I have found that with PCOS they will not continue doing it forever..they will give you several extra sessions, but because of the PCOS, they will not continue indefintely...wish they would, I would go every six weeks. for the rest of my life if I had to. I sometimes use the lidocaine gel before treatments, this numbs the area so the laser doesn't hurt.  I use the gel if I am on my period, because that is when the laser treatments seemd to hurt the most, if I am not on my menses, I can tolerate the laser treatment fine...sounds weird I know. Some people never have any pain, but since they keep going up opn the laser intensity to treat the stubborn hair follicles, it gets kind of intense sometimes, but it is not that bad considering the end to the means. Good Luck!

hi... i have finished a full cycle of the laser treatment @ monarch med spa in philly formally sona med spa... i did my full face (side burns, chin, neck, cheeks, mustache, lower lip) the only place i see the hair growing back is my neck and chin and mustach... i am almost 2 months completed and i already see a lot of hair growing back i will probably go for a second cycle... its definately not as coarse but its there and it bothers me... but they will tell you when you go the hair on your face is not a guarantee because of the pcos... not that they can actually guarantee for anyone... but less for pcos patients... i am also in the process of getting my legs and full bikini area done and with my 1st of 6 treatments my bikini area is blotchy and my legs are at about a 60% loss... so i think i will have better results with the legs than anywhere else... oh yeah my stomach too... that also had good results... now if i could just put all of this together... it would be even better... there is a woman who i met at lane bryant and she looked worse than my boyfriend... and she has been shaving everyday... i told her to check out the laser center and she did and she went through 1 cycle and hers is so much finer and not so coarse and not as thick either... i wasnt trying to be rude we got into it about pcos she didnt even know about it... but anyways gl to you it works differently for everyone...

I did laser treatment at the Berman Skin Institute in Palo Alto, California in 2002 and had amazing results.  At that time I had a 5 o'clock shadow and it was horrible.  I had about 90% hair loss after my first 6 sessions. Eventually some hair did start to grow back.......not as bad as before but definitely noticable.  I had another 5 sessions last year and they were alot cheaper - the results were great and I now have about 95% hair loss. Definitely worth it.  Just keep in mind that over the years you may need to go back. I highly recommend.

Hello,  I had my treatments at the MG Institute in downtown Chicago.  I will say that at the time my PCOS was under control and they treatments worked very well.  I went off treatment for awhile and some of the hair has grown back, but nothing like what I had before. I am waiting for my RNY and hopefully once that is done and my hormones are stable I will go back in for more treaments.  they charged $1,700 for all 6 treatments.  Hope you all the best.
