I have PCOS and have always had irregular cycles!  Sometimes not getting for months on end then bleeding for 6 months!!  I am 3 weeks out today and my cycle started Sunday after my surgery and has not stopped.  It is driving me crazy.  It extremely heavy the entire time, at times it's hard to walk, and it doesn't seem like there is an end in sight.  Did anyone else have this issue?  Usually when the cycles attack my GYN tries to find some type of birth control to put me on to even me out.  Since the surgery though and loss of fat cells, I don't know that there is much they can do.  My GYN has put me on the patch which I have been wearing for the past 3 weeks and it has not even slowed the cycle down.  Which really isn't unusual since my GYN had out me on the strongest bc on the market and I still bleed thru it even when he had me take two at a time!!  This is making my recovery so much harder.  I have the insomna, which this makes twice as bad.  I have back pain, with the cycle it's x2.  At times it is making it hard to eat because it makes me nauses.  The cramps are horrible!!  My flow has been so heavy that I'm going thru pads about every 20 to 30 mins.  This may be TMI but it's just blood everywhere.  I can't take it anymore.  My cycles are like this alot but they have not been this bad for a long time.  Usually it could be heavy for 10 days and disappear like 3 days later.  I'm at my wits end.

Only suggestion I can give you is get to the doctor.  If you have been bleeding that heavy for 3 weeks, you really should be seen.   I sure hope that things stabalize for you and you start to feel better.  You should probably have your blood work done you may have very low iron with a cycle that bad. My goodness~  I agree, go to your doctor!!!  I have a friend that also has PCOS and she had a lot of bleeding issues also.  She had to have some D&Cs.  If you are not satisfied with your current doctor find another one, perhaps an endocrynologist or a fertility specialist who specializes in PCOS.  Good lucj my dear, hang in there!!!!!!

My Daughter has had to have two D&c's to get the bleeding to stop . Be careful because your Iron levels will drop with bleeding this bad and after surgery it is much harder to get the iron levels back to normal

My period did soemthing similar after my WLS.... but I was so weak after surgery I didn't care... it was just a symptom of the anesthia and body trauma according to my doc.  Just have your doc watch your hemaglobin and you will get through this .  I am 7 months post op with a healthy regular cycle.... see that pin light in the darkness.... it is the light at the end of the tunnell! Youare on your way!
