sugar levels
I do! When I was pregnant over 14 years ago (with what I now believe was a miracle since I have PCOS), when I took the gestational diabetes test, my blood sugar dropped so low within an hours time, they didn't think I even drank it. Then the doctor asked if I had eaten anything all day. I told him that I have to eat or I get nauseas, light headed, shakes, etc. That's when I found out that I have Hypo-glycemia. This is Low Blood Sugar. Diabetics get it when they take their insulin, but don't eat enough. My current PCP doesn't believe a person without diabetes could have hypo-glycemia. But I don't have diabetes, but I've never have been tested since to prove either. There is a 6 hour test where they take a fasting blood sugar level, then give you something, probably a sucrose solution, then take blood sugar readings every half hour for the six hour duration. (I read it in a book when I was researching hypo-glycemia.)
Anyway, I have to eat snacks throughout the day in order to keep up my blood sugar. The best thing to do is stay away from sugars (I know ~ this is extremely hard cuz you crave it!), and eat high protien foods. The Atkins diet is probably the best way to control your blood sugar.
I wish you the best!
