Break Through Bleeding
OK ladies,
I'm 6 months post op PCOSer!! I'm on "the pill" to keep me from getting pregnant so soon after surgery. I have lost 82lbs and now I'm starting to have breakthrough bleeding. I had it 2 months ago but I was under tremendous emotional stress. I don't know what's going on. Is the pill not being absorbed??? What's going on.
Rachel
I'm not sure I understand why breakthrough bleeding is bad? I have PCOS and I am 7 months post op today. I am down 96 pounds. I am not taking bcps but I do take progesterone every month to keep my periods regular. It's healthy for your body to bleed. Have you been on the pill before? When I took it before, I still got regular periods. The pill only stopped the ovulation from occuring (if it was occuring at all anyway). I don't know, I am just confused why you're worried about having your period. Can you give more information?
Now, THAT makes sense. LOL. I feel your pain in that dept. Sometimes mine was lasting 5+ weeks. Or go for 3-4 then stop for a week and start back up for another 3-4. I have switched pills three times and finally am not even on the pill, just progesterone. It's all about hormones and getting the right amounts of each one in there for consistency. The only downfall to the progesterone is it means DH and I have to be VERY careful so we don't have any ooopsies before it's time.
Maybe talk to your GYN about it and see if a different pill with different amounts of estrogen would help you regulate better.
