I weigh 183pounds and im 5;5 so im not too much over weight, but have tried clomid more then 5 times and nothing and I was doing pretty good with having my period every month but like I said I had it last on feb 4 and its now march31 and nothing I m also taking metphromin 4 pills a day (yuck) and yeah my husband has told me to take a  pergnancy test but Im kinda scared too, see he has two kids already and wants more but he also understands about pos but its just hard to let him down. So I was thinking trying to go on a diet since i work out 4 times a week and havent lost more then 5 pounds (after 2 months) So does anyone have any ideas on ANYTHING I JUST NEED A LITTLE HELP thank you all

Hi Cassandra, I have PCOS too and have known about it only after being lucky enough to have my son at 27 years old.  I am alot heavier than you but have also tried Metformin and Clomid.  The Clomid actually made things worse for me and lowered by Progesterone the higher the Clomid dosage was.  If it has not worked for you by now it might not.  You may have to try injections instead.  Are you seeing a Fertility specialist rather than just an Ob/Gyn?  Where do you live in Canada? I'm happy you are trying so young.  Like I said, I didn't miss a period or have a problem until after 27.  Being almost 23 means you have more years to figure it out.  Seems like small consolation but it is something. On the dieting front... Good for you for exercising so much.  Make sure you wor****il you sweat for at least 1/2 an hour each time.  Also, the only diet that helped me even the slightest was Atkins.  I know, I know, so many bad reviews on it, but it really works if you can stick to it (I couldn't).  If you can lose 10% of your body weight and at least hold your weight there  for two months(for you 165lbs) you will triple your chances at fertility.  At least that's what my specialists said.  I know, easier said than done, but the Metformin should help with that a bit.  Also, make sure to have your thyroid checked as well (if you haven't already)because low thyroid and PCOS can go hand-in-hand and thyroid regulation through meds can also help with weight loss. I'm not a doctor but have gone through the TTC rollercoaster for over two years and can definitely commisserate! Best of luck and try not to stress too much!  You still have lots of time! Alison

Cassandra, if possible you should speak with your OB/GYN about management of your PCOS/infertility.  Sometimes all it takes is some Glucophage (metformin), or they could help you decide what other methods to use or give you a referral to someone more specialized. I was seeing a reproductive endocrinologist and ended up using fertility shots and intrauterine insemination. It became quite expensive, but not so much as IVF. I have a 10-yo son and 4-yo girl and boy twins, who are worth every penny and more!!  Good luck.
