For those who have had WLS.  If you had facial hair (chin, neck, upper lip, low side burns) before surgery.   Has the hair growth slowed or stopped? Also, what about chest, belly or even butt crack hair? I sometimes feel like I'm cursed!  I hate shaving my chin/neck everyday, and still have stubble!  I hate it!  I would once love to enjoy my husband touching and kissing my neck without feeling embarrased! How did/do you deal with this issue?  wax, shave, laser? How often? Thanks for your imput! Jessica

Hey Jessica,I feel like I am cursed also!  I have been cursed for 15 years and it seems like it will be that way for awhile.  I keep praying for a miracle pill. I had WLS 14 months ago and I wish that I could say that it got better but it didn't for me.  My hair stayed the same.  I have been looking into laser.  I have heard that laser does wonders.  I love having WLS.  It has been awesome.   Good Luck!!  Jenn

Thanks for asking that ?, it has been on my mind also.  I am hoping to have my RNY this August and I was also hoping that my hair would at the minimum stabalize.  I feel like it just keeps getting worse.  I tried the laser about 2 years ago but did not see any permanent results.  If anything it got worse b/c they shaved my neck and chin before each session and now that is what I do.  I used to only have to do it about every three days now I am up to every day.  It sucks  need I say more????????? I was hoping that once I lost weight that my hormone levels would level off and if I did the laser again I would have better results.  Any input would be great!!!! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did have laser(6 tx) with my dermatologist and it stopped on the neck and the outer edges of the chinline.  I lost the Elvis mutton-chops.  It has slowed down(almost disappeared) from the upper lip, except right next to the outer edges of the upper lip.  The area I have the most problem still is the chin, the points that follow my lip line.  The area does have less growth, it's thinner, and it's easier to deal with.  My dermatologist told me it was easier just to shave instead of waxing, and I have followed her advice for 2 years.  I live in a new climate now, and my skin is drying out, so I'm gonna go back to waxing.  I used to get it done pre-op about every 3-4 weeks, along with my eyebrows.  It was easier than tweezing, and over pretty quickly.
