after the weight loss, dose your face hair go away and your head hair come back?

I have used vaniqa also.l.. that and Spironolactone helps a lot.  If you use Vaniqa two times a day, in the morning when you are doing your face routine, and in th evening after cleansing your skin... but it does kind of burn a little when your skin is sensitive... you get used to that though.  My skin sometimes was sensitive after shaving that morning.  Its not covered by insurance though as its considered cosmetic.  And flexible spending accounts wont pay for it either.  I think its about $40 a tube unless its gotten cheaper.  I mjight actually get on it again too for some quicker results. Those two things slowed my hair growth and gave me 85% results... tremendous difference

I have read articles and my doctor confirmed this for me, some women have had the hair on their heads come back in thicker after losing their excess weight and I for one am hoping for that. As for the other body hair, once you start shaving it the only way to get rid of it is a more permanent method. I've been doing laser hair removal for the past 6 years. I used to have a 5 o'clock shadow but that's gone now. I've been working on my arms and legs now too but want to wait until I get some of this excess weight off before attempting other body parts. Laser is painful the thicker your hair is, but it is SO worth it. My self-esteem has risen through the roof!

Unfortunately the surgery does not stop the hair growth.  I had laser hair removal and was doing great.  But when my surgeon took me off of Spironolactone because its a diuretic and he thought it was dehydrating me, it took a few months for it to show the results... now my facial hair is starting to grow again and I went back to the gynecologist and asked for Spironolactone again.  My gastric bypass doctor approved me to start it again.  So I had my lab work to check my free testosterone level.  I can't wait for it to get back into my system to slow the hair growth again... but I've got to go back for laser hair removal again...

I have been on meds for PCOS for about 12 years.  I'm surprised that no one has mentioned taking the birth control pill as part of the regimen.  Been on Glucophage, Aldactone (Spironolactone) and some type of Pill since then.  It's the Pill that regulates and shrinks the actual cysts on your ovaries, which in turn halts the production of the insulin in relation to the insulin resistance and the male hormones.  Since I have been on the pill since my first sonogram after just one year the cysts on my ovaries have disappeared and have stayed disappeared for 10 years.  As for the hair, as my blood sugar has gotten lower and the insulin levels lower the cysts not being there, the hair on my face has decreased.  Since being banded I have lost 40 lbs in over 8 months.  It is very slow and frustrating, and my hair did start falling out AFTER surgery, never had a problem before.  But, much bloodwork revealed the culprit was malnutrition and my body going into a shock like state where it had to direct its resources to more important places than hair follicules.  Been taking Biotin, Silicon, B1, Iron, Glycine, Glutamine, Fish Oils and it stopped falling out quickly and is frantically growing back.  There are doctors who specialize in this, and it's often very helpful to have an endocrinologist and an ob-gyn who are good with treating it, since it's really an ob-gyn issue to start with that causes everything else.  Google away and find one, and good luck!
