Hello everyone!! My name is Laurane, and I'm new to this site. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 5 years ago. I have many of the symptoms (irregular cycles, facial hair, fertility problems, etc) I've been wanting this surgery for years, but it's just been 6 months or so that I've been seriously trying to get it. I would love to meet some of you that have had the surgery and who are currently in the process of having the surgery. I'm hoping for a surgery date in October/November...and I can't wait!!! I just posted my profile and some pics. This looks like an awesome support site and I'm so thankful that I found it! Do PCOS symptoms decrease post op? Laurane

Hi, my name is Rachel and I am new to OH as well. I too have PCOS, have for years, FINALLY diagnosed last year. I'm at the beginning stages of the surgery process so I am aiming for a March/April date for next year. I'd love to meet some of you ladies with PCOS who have either been through the surgery or who are about to. Feel free to contact me anytime.

Hi Laurane, (very unique spelling... I like!) Welcome to OH, and the PCOS forum!! There's tons of support all over this site! When I first came here I couldnt believe it! I hope your process is a quick one because I know how it is to really want the surgery.... the day doesnt come soon enough. Well from my experience, being that pcos varies so much for each woman, the after effects can differ. But still, I would say for most of us that pcos does get better after surgey. For me, I spent about 14 years without a "natural" period- and since 33 days after my surgery, I have been "natural" and regular ever since. My facial hair removal was started a few months before my surgery, now I'm pretty much free from fighting that war. But enough about me... I was just writing to welcome you, and wish you the best on your journey!!! This site offers some of the best research you can find in addition to help from your doctor! I'm glad you made the step to a better you and again... I wish you all the best!!! ~Soule~ 415/230 and still running...
