After the hysterectomy, I was taking 'Cenestin'. From what my doctor told me, it was made from something from a mexican sweet potato. Don't know if that's true or not. But, It helped for a while. Then he put me on a hormonal patch. It helped with the sweats and moods....for a while. Now, I am totally off of everything. I will ask about it after the RNY surgery. I am tired of being moody & sweaty alot. But, I think you should check w/ your doctor regarding hormone supplements. I just choose not to take them. Have a great day, Beth

hey there. i have pcos and after 5 months of bleeding straight and 6 d&c's before that over a year....i found a doctor who suggested mirena IUD. i was scared of it at first but when the doctor herself told me she had one and i read up on it more, i had it put in and my periods stopped. i have spotting every once in a while but not even enough for a pad really. i want more kids one day as does my doctor. there are risks as with anything else but i truly believe it is the best option available and a simple insertion in office to get yourself taken care of. no pesky every day birth control (hate it) or depo shots that make you gain weight & have hormonal issues sometimes resulting in needing estrogen pills not to mention the extreme crabbiness most women deal with (birth control in itself i think), NO PERIODS and misery from constant bleeding....so that is my opinion. it works for me. but you are different than me so of course researching it before going for it is always best. hope all works out. sounds like the pills are working. i think i am just not a fan of needing to take a pill every night. they always made me nauseous anyway. best of luck to you!
