Because Clinton lied about being serviced by an intern in the White House while he was on the phone conducting the nations business. The controversy over Pres Bush's National Guard service is something that happened 30 years ago and the public has already decided in several elections that it is not relevant to their decision. Just like it won't be this Novemeber. Talk about the REpubs wanting to hold onto power - the Dem's are getting so desperate they are forging documents and CBS has embarrassed itself airing them! Now the reports are coming in that the source of these forgeries was in contact with a top Kerry advisor!

Actually, Kerry and the democrats are out talking about healthcare, and jobs, and cutting the tax cuts to companies that move jobs overseas and things like that. CBS, a private, nonpartisan news organization ran a story about Bush's questionable National Guard Service. Tell me, why is it that when Clinton lied, it's a big deal--worth millions of dollars of investigations into his private sex life--but when Bush lies about his service to his country, it's not worth checking in to? But I guess the Repubs can only recognize a sleazy, lying scumbag when it's in the other party. Tell you what, read Joe Conason's "Big Lies" and John Dean's "Worse than Watergate" and tell me about how Bush has brought back "honor and integrity" to the White House like he's promised. It's a much harder sell than you think it is. And if you think he's all for the troops, guess again. He tried to cut their combat pay (claiming that this isn't a "war") and all of his budgets have proposed cuts to veteran's benefits. Do the republicans even KNOW what they're voting for? Of course not! 90% of everything this administration does is in secret. They claim they are out to protect the power of the presidency. This is because the only power they can muster is the power they have when they keep the American public in the dark about what they're doing. Sunshine is the great sanitizer. If what they're doing can't stand the light of day, we should be questioning it BIG TIME. But the repubs won't bother, because it means they get to keep control.

Persoanlly, I LOVE it that they're talking about Bush's National Guard area service. It is very obvious that the public is not going to decide on that issue any more than they did in 2000 so the more time they spend talking about it the less thay are talking about areas in which he is truely vulnerable. the Democrats are making the same mistake the Repub's did in 1996. The Repub's assumed everyone saw Clinton the same way they did - as a sleazy, lying scumbag. the problem was, not everyone saw him that way. The Dem's just don't get it now - not everyone see's the Pres as a war-mongering imbecile. And it will be their downfall. Pres Bush should be vulnerable. But between the Dem's picking such a lousy candidate and then Kerry running a terrible campaign they are pratically giving away the election.

If someone else disagrees they should still be admitted unless they are a threat or they have disrupted the rally where they try to ruin it for those attending. Debbie

what I'd like an honest answer to is the following, why should someone be not admitted to a rally if they disagree with the speaker? I really am looking for an honest answer to this.

You mean like Dukakis did? If Kerry doesn't fight fire with fire, he's finished. And for the record, his stump speeches are about what he stands for. And the good news is, if you want to hear him speak, you don't have to sign over all your allegiance to him (like other candidates).

You apparently dont see what is really happening. Look at cbs and the crap they are spewing, Also look at nbc who is giving Kitty Kelley 3 days of interviews. Did they do the same for the swiftboat vets, not to my knowledge. The democrats have to stop whining and start talking about what John Kerry stands for THIS WEEK. Debbie

Mary I understand what you mean. I think the problem is, there has been so much sex, lies and conspiracy in the Capital that the public is just not listening. I for one take my right to vote very seriously, however I know many who say, what's the use, all of them are the same not matter what party they represent. There definitely needs to be a shake up in our political system.

Three of them on Capital Gang saying "no big deal" and "it doesn't matter if he served or not". How about how it relates to his CREDIBILITY????? I mean Jeez..... we go after one president for a consensual extra-marital affair, but we let another lie about his AWOL status? Why do the press handle this administration with kid gloves????

We can agree that it was a great letter and I to wish someone had written it. I don't think what they did to Linda was proper though this country should be more tolerant of divergent views, just b/c I happen to think your views are silly doesnt mean I don't want to listen to you sing. The most significant sign of democracy is the tolerance of differing views.
