Topic: At the very least...
While I'm very disappointed to be peeling my Kerry/Edwards stickers off my car and front door, I'm proud to have been part of the most important election I may ever see. Over 120 million people voted, and so many more were involved, interested, and invested in the outcome that I feel like it was fair--and that was imperative to get back after 2000. Now remember--the Republicans will control Executive, Legislative and probably Judicial branches of government in these next years. Anything they do will be squarely on their shoulders. Along with privilege comes responsibility. Good luck with that...

No surrender - Did you order it off the Internet? There is a great store here in Austin, Texas called "Two Unemployed Democrats" and they have great stuff - think they are on the web too. My shirt today says " Last time someone listened to a Bush - they wandered around the desert lost for 40 years..." My husband's says "If you are not appalled by the current state of affairs, then you have no been paying attention." Fingers crossed here... Anne

Topic: RE: A woman's right to choose..
Mike - do some research and read about how things were 40 and 50 years ago for women w/ unwanted pregnancies - Read what happens when a woman goes to have an illegal abortion. We can not as a nation allow ourselves to revert to those days of back alley abortionists - who perforated women's wombs and left them to bleed to death. Or the women - who were so desparate to end a pregnancy - would stick coat hangers up their uterus in hopes of aborting the cells. And - if you are not willing to support abortion - are you willing to support sex education - including birth control discussions - in the public schools? Don't take the easy way out - and say that is a parent's job - a lot of parents are unable to - for what ever reason - to have a healthy discussion with their teenager about sex, etc. Your choice of presidents supports only the discussion of abstenience in public schools - Guess what - kids are going to have sex - I don't care what you hope for - they are - I work in a high school and I can tell you that 90% if not 95% of the students in the school are sexually active!!! Arm young people with knowledge and easy access to birth control - and they won't need abortions... Last but not least - I presume you are opposed to the death penalty too? Because - you said that "Thou Shalt not kill." Anne

Topic: RE: WHY I will NOT vote for a Liberal Democrat!
I am amazed when people claim that socialism is a horrid idea and try to make comparisions to countries that are NOT socialist...In my personal opinion - true socialism is the best type of government there is - But - it goes against human nature...People typically don't believe in sharing everything equally.... I proudly voted for Kerry today. And - regardless of who is elected for president - I hope that the man elected works hard to bridge the severe divide there is in our wonderful country between the two parties. Unfortunately - I don't believe Bush will work to do that - as quite frankly he does not in my opinion give a darn about the lower class, the Democrats, anyone who does not support him (look at the requirements to go to one of his rallies!) or the minority citizens of this country. John Kerry/Edwards Support and very proud of it!

Topic: RE: Kerry supporters please answer question
You know - I don't know the answer. But - I can see what Bush has accomplished in his 4 years (And lived through what he accomplished in Texas for 4 years!) - and I say he got his chance and quite frankly he f***ed our country up more then ever...I would rather give Kerry a chance then have another 4 years of a dismal economy and more of our young people being killed in a war that never should have been.
