Mike, come on celebrate but do it with a brain. Calling Russia a socialist state is like calling America a Democracy. We are a republic in title and in many ways an oligarchy. Russia (ussr) was a totalitarian country or at very best a Stalin/Mao Communist dictatorship, they were never a socialist state. Now go back and celebrate but get your facts correct.

Erin, How are things in Antioch?? I used to live in Antioch (On Bell Road at the Club at Hickory Hollow apartments, to be exact).. I can tell you where I lived, since I don't live there anymore. Then me and my wife moved down to Lavergne for two years, then made a crazy decision to move out here to Utah. Utah is sure a beautiful state and the people here are wonderful! But I've always loved the south and consider the Nashville area the greatest I've ever lived in. Someday maybe we'll move back. I also miss the mild weather there. Already we've gotten 4 inches of snow this winter here.. -Mike

Yep, Deliah.. OVER 3 MILLION votes in favor of Bush. They were saying this is the first time a president has won by popular vote since 1988 when Dubya's Dad won. And don't be so hard on your state.. correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't I see last night that Bush won Missouri?? I'd be proud of the people of your state for keeping our leader as president instead of falling for all that pandering we heard from John "flip-flopper" Kerry! -mike

Ok... first of all if you don't believe Russia was a socialist country, you either A) Fell asleep every day in class during World History or B) got into a car wreck in 1990 and forgot every thing prior to that year. For all of you people in groups A and B, let me educate you. Did you know that Russia (prior to 1989) was part of the USSR?? Do you know what USSR stood for?? Union of Soviet SOCIALIST republics.. You better learn your history, people. Second of all, If you actually are "gullible" and Brainwashed enough to think Socialism is a good thing, I take pity on you. You're probably the same ones who think "Government run" healthcare would be a good thing. Don't get me wrong.. our healthcare system is way far from perfect, but sure as heck wouldn't be any better if Hillary Clinton or John Kerry ran it. Thank God Bush won again.. -Mike

Not everyone would agree that it is "morally" wrong to have an abortion - it is a medical procedure after all. I say "rare" because it is just that - a medical procedure that has risks AND can be avoided by using precautions. Taking away the option is not going to stop it from ever happening at all but it will most certainly increase the risks to the women who seek it. If someone you loved felt despirate enough to go that route (in a world where abortion was no longer available legally) and died in the process of obtaining one illegally - how would you feel then? You've not only lost the potential child - you would have lost her as well. This is an issue that will NEVER go away - whether it stays legal or gets outlawed. Guaranteed.

"Along with privilege comes responsibility" Just remember that statement. This nation is very deeply divided so it is not a "republican" nation any more than it is a "democrat" one (meaning party affiliation) At least the results look legitimate this time around - I will give it that much.

"Along with privilege comes responsibility" - Amen to that statement. They can no longer blame problems that crop up on the Democrats as they are the ones holding the reigns of power. At least the results seem to be legitimate this time around. I'll give it that much.
