What do I think about who is campaigning so far? I think we need another candidate. I'll even name him. Wes Clark. The issues that are important to me are the ones that will affect the lives of every day Americans the most: energy policy and health care. For whatever tiny gains have been made in income, they have been eaten up by astronomical increases in the cost of energy and health care. 47 million Americans have no health insurance, and since those of us who DO have insurance are paying the medical bills those who do not, it just makes sense for us pay for everyone to have it. I want the government to have no say in whether two consenting adults can get married. I don't care what their sexual orientation is. I want the government to have no say about how many kids I have and when I can have them. That's something that communist China does. I want the government to look for non-military solutions to the problems in Iraq. There is not now, nor has there been in the nearly 4 years we have been there, any indication that this military action will bring peace to the region.

Saw a report from England's "The Independent" that said that the Sunni's would be willing to sit down and talk to the Shiites if the U.S.A. would just get out of there. It's too bad that we can't find someone else (some other country or organization) to oversee things over there so that they will sit down and talk to each other. When they do that, they'll stop blowing each other up, and the lives of American soldiers will be saved. The fact of the matter is that as long as we are there, the fighting will continue. Our presence (whether in present numbers or with a "surge") does nothing but feed their willingness to kill and die for their cause.

AGAIN... please read the statement I made carefully. The words used were "a lot and many" and not ALL. I never said that you had to believe in my religion... what I stated was that the previous posters statements were not going to impact a lot of the liberals that were posting... because of the simple fact that there are many liberals that don't believe in God. The previous posters statement was in reference to Jesus Christ and the fact that HE, God's Son... DIED.... and so did the sons of mothers in all of the wars listed. That was why I made the statement.... not to say that you HAVE to believe the way I do. As for there being a separation between church and state.... what do you think this country was founded on?? Men came here searching for a way to practice their religious beliefs without persecution. Their religious morals founded our country. Please read my post again... I never cursed or name called. I can present my opinions and thoughts to you without the use of all that. You need to direct that statement to someone else... and not me. Bridget

WOW, How incredible you are to ascertain all that about me from one statement. Forgive me for letting my religion back my political beliefs.... last I checked a good majority of the conservative vote is made by people who vote according to their values. If you would have read my statement a little more carefully, you would have seen that my statement didn't group the entire liberal party as non-believers. You would have seen that the statement said "a lot and many", and not ALL. As for your statement of comparing the Christian religion and myself to Islamic terrorists, then apparently you have never been to my church or met me. The most glorious thing about this country is that I am allowed to believe the things that I want... and so are you. =) Wars are fought everyday... not just in the name of my God. Last I checked the war in Iraq is not being fought in the name of my God... but for the people of Iraq to be able to live as we live and be able to believe anything they want as we do. It is also being fought to protect us from losing our lives and freedoms. That means your freedom to spout off everything you do on this forum. Whether it be to boast your opinion or attempt to belittle someone elses. I know my words here in this debate won't change your thoughts or opinion on things... and I am not trying to change them.... just stating mine...same as you. By the way, people suffer and die everyday. People fight everyday. Battles are won and lost everyday. These things are a part of life.... death is a part of life. I don't want people in the military to die... and I surely don't want their family members to suffer their loss. Unfortunately, it is a sad part of life that people deal with... and have since the beginning of time. I truly believe that there is something more to our lives than just living here on this earth. Every person plays a very special role in a larger than life production. If you feel my religion and my politcal stance is "stupidity", so be it. I put my faith and life in God only... thank goodness I don't HAVE to believe in you. Bridget

Typical religious right follow the lead sheep mentality. If we don't believe ithe way you do, then we just plain out don't believe in God. You Fundys are as extreme as the Islamic terrorists - with them it is also Their way or the Highway. How many wars must be fought in the name of your god?... how many lives must be lost for your god? how many little virgin girls taken captive and into slavery and raped and forced into unwanted marriages for your god? If you want to debate the stupidity of your religious positions then ask OH to put up a religious foruim. This is a political forum and to try to mis the two just demonstrates how people like you can't think for themselves.
