Negativity on this board
I agree. Freedom isn't free. My father fought for it in WW II, but you're really delusional if you think this war is about our freedom. In WW II the Japanese attacked us. The Iraqi's did not. One can argue that Saudis attacked us.
You don't have to support the president to support the troops. Yes, they knew that they were signing up to defend our freedom, so we owe it to them to make sure our freedom is at stake before we ask them to risk their lives. If I didn't care about them, I wouldn't be so angry about the lies.
You seem to think that the President is some sort of super-hero. He is simply a man and I believe that Bush did what he thought was right at the time. He stood up for what he believed in! How can anyone condemn him for that? America needs a President that is decisive, as I've said before. Did he make mistakes, sure he did... But who doesn't make mistakes? There is no easy solution for what we are involved in now. What is YOUR answer, pull the troops? When I vote, I examine all candidates and choose the one with the closest values & ideas I have. I chose Bush. I believe he is a good-hearted, Christian man and wouldn't put someone in harms way knowingly. I believe he is doing WHAT HE thinks is right. Do I agree with EVERYTHING he does, absolutely not. Anyway, we are beating a dead horse. Have a super day and God Bless!
This is the funniest thing I have ever seen.
"Bush is President so the facts don't matter!" LOL
All this after what you said to me. Which is:
"No Surrender, I have seen your posts and your responses... and I'm not even going to validate any of your above posted questions. I don't trust your reactions on this board enough to have a debate/discussion with you. "
So far, Kathy and my reactions have been to present facts to you, and your reaction has been to laugh at us and tell us that we're not worth talking to.
How about you come back w/ some facts of your own? How about you respond to any of the charges made by presenting a reasoned and logical argument supported by facts? You could even link to a site or two if you have to, though I'd stay away from Fox News, and Free Republic if you're looking for something unbiased.
C'mon! What have you got to lose? Just what is it about this President that you find so wonderful? Even if you don't want to knock down what we've said, you could tell us what it is we're supposed to appreciate about him.... right?
Oh I know... you could always resort to your "LOL Thanks for the laughs" form of response, which of course, carries so much weight to it. /sarcasm
I really don't mean this to sound as bad as it does, honestly, BUT didn't anyone notice that it was the more progressive states that voted for Kerry (and I'm proud to say my state was one of them) and the vast majority of the states that voted for Bush were the southern and redneck states? Oh well, we'll be through with him for GOOD in 4 more years. He is the worse president I think we've ever had. It's no wonder so many people in the world hate Americans and think we're idiots.
Ok, I need to apologize for my statement last night. I don't usually write negative things like that. I'm all for pulling this country together and supporting our President. I may have not voted for him, but hey, this is a democracy and he won. If I offended anyone, please accept my sincere apology.
Kimanne, I especially want to apologize to you. You were the first person to welcome me to OH. I respect your opinion and agree with you that we all need to be happier and more positive with the onset of the New Year!
