Another "told you so" - why did we not envade Faluga (sp?) before the election???Because the body count and injury count would be bad for reelection.... What is going to happen to the 1000's of soldiers who have been maimed for life when they get back home to the US - where there are no jobs to be had, their benefits have been cut, etc.,etc.

Tell that to all the families who have lost sons, daughters, fathers, etc because Bush couldn't go after the real culprits of 9/11...I hope you don't have any young men you love....cause once Bush reinstates the draft they'll be fair game like all the rest....

Actually my husband is in the National Guard....he re-joined immediately after 9/11 and was deployed for a year (not to Iraq, but for domestic duty). He just re-upped for 6 more years so I guess that makes him 'fair game' even without a draft which is never going to happen. That was the most ridiculous (out of a whole SLEW of ridiculous) scare-mongering tactics put out there. But, as I said before, I guess they the Dem's had to make things up since they didn't have any viable programs or options.

Oil down? ON what planet? Here in the east home heating oil i****ting new records and the gas at the pump is $2.11 a gallon. Jobs up? Again, not here in NY. Then again, I wouldn't brag, if I were you about jobs being up until we get back the 900,000 we lost. They just put through a measure to raise the deficit ceiling again. Know what that means? Bush intends to spend more money we don't have. How many more of our men and women have died in Iraq? Anyone see an end of that debacle in site?

Oil is down on this planet...sharp drop in Novemeber according to NPR and The Economist. Gas prices are down between .25-.50 cents a gallon nation wide. Unemployment is at 5.5%, from a high of about 6.8% after 9-11. More obs are added every month.

Seriously folks. Is gas or oil really down anywhere in your areas? Here in NY it's rising. Since I posted last time gas is up over a nickel a gallon. My brother works for an oil company and they're always nervous when prices go up like this. Maybe I should take a copy of The Economist with me to the gas pump. Unemployment numbers are misleading because all of us who lost our jobs more than a year ago have fallen off the unemployment rolls. The number you're quoting is new filings for unemployment insurance. It does not reflect the number of people truely unemployed.

Kathy, I don't know about home heating oil, since my home is heated by natural gas.. but yes, gas prices here in Utah HAVE dropped about 15 cents/gallon in the past month. I agree, it's still way too high, but at least we're making some progress. -Mike

Well here in this BLUE state it's still on it's way up. I gues it's our punishment for challenging the great OZ and trying to fire him.
