So wait, you had implants removed or you had the "butt flap" of your own tissue removed? Auto-augmentation generally means your own tissue.

I didn't have augmentation, but I definitely have pain issues in my butt. For me it's due to boney PSIS (posterior superior iliac spine).

Topic: RE: Panniculectomy

A traditional pannulectomy can be very disfiguring. It's literally just cutting off the hanging skin below the belly button. I have seen some that were hideous. Does your mons pubis hang down too, I realize you're unhappy with your stomach but my question is, what is your current BMI? If it's 35 or less, you should be able to find a ps who will do a full TT. If it's higher, I advise not doing anything - the risk of having post complications is very high

Mine peaked at around 5 weeks. I was bigger at 5 weeks than at 1 week post op. Everyone is different, it takes a long while for it really to improve. I gained 13lbs in fluids and 3 clothes sizes with my plastics. Top one is 6months post op.

For me, my range of motion was an issue for around 10 days. Turning the steering wheel gave me sharp pains until then. Also, I remember going to the bank drive through around that time and how painful reaching for the tube was. Don't do that!! ;)

For me, the largest factor to go back to driving was the narcotics, since you have to be off them for 24 hours before driving. And pain is so personal that it's hard to predict what someone else will need.

haven't had that one yet (will in the spring), but I had an LBL at age 58 and was driving about 10 days later - once I was off my pain meds and feeling OK with sitting up for extended periods of time (or long enough to drive somewhere, anyway!). I suspect if anything, the recovery after brachioplasty will be easier. Hopefully someone who's had one will chime in.

Topic: Brachoplasty Recovery Time-Driving Question

Hi All,

I am considering bracheoplasty and would like some feedback of recovery time and when I can drive. My surgery may include skin removal of my side boob. I had a full body lift and recovered well but I was 40, now I am 53. Thank you in advance.
