So, it's pretty normal to have some numbness after skin removal surgery. I got the feeling back in my vertical incision and belly button within the first year. However, I still have about a 1 inch strip of numbness along my entire horizontal incision.

Here is the weird/cool thing. A couple of days I started getting a sharp periodic pain on my right him, and then yesterday is started on my left hip. Over a year out, and I'm starting to get some of my feeling back on the horizontal incision. Yay :)

Topic: RE: Just Had Thigh Lift 7/17/18

UPDATE AFTER REVISION OF THIGH SURGERY

On December 21 I had a revision of the thigh surgery I had on July 17, 2018. My surgeon said it would be a much easier surgery. At this time I can say that nothing is easier. He made the area that still had a lot of skin left very tight, and the areas above (upper thighs) and below (knees) are bulging out, making it look very concave in the middle. The inside of the knees look terrible at this point. Everything is swollen and the area he made tight very swollen still now after a month, making me very afraid of things opening up. I posted after my initial thigh surgery, and there were many great comments which made sense -- especially about why my surgeon may have been so conservative due to my age (64) and my non-elastic skin. Some of the comments above made sense -- like why he would have been conservative. He might have been a little more conservative this time and things would be a little more even. I'm still out of work, now walking very little because of how quickly they swell, and keeping my legs raised most of the time. I'm out of town and got stuck here due to the redness, heat and swelling. My surgeon called in antibiotics on Saturday just in case there is an infection, and I got some OTC water pills, but I'm thinking of going to a doctor here in Florida just to be sure all is okay. The wounds are not opening up at this point, though when I had my lower body lift, after more than a month my back opened up completely (I consider that night the worst night of my life...), so I don't consider it an impossibility at this point. I'm not sorry I did it, because no more hanging skin now that I will be living in Florida. Just have to get through this period, and nowhere have I read that this surgery is a breeze.
