- Are there any types of "go fund me" fundraiser page's specifically for post weightloss surgery patients needing to get skin removed? I'm not even talking implants or that type of procedide, but thigh lifts,. Tummy tucks/panniculecyomys.etc.
- I'd like to start a go fund me, but preferably not be laughed at in the process. I've spend the last 11 years losing weight, exercising and keeping it off but exercise isn't going to shrink skin and I believe a surgery for me would cost between $15,000-$20,000!!! I'm 32yr old and we're a 1 income family with 2 beautiful babies (ain't no mama got that kinda cash laying around...) I'm terrified that I'm going to be trapped in this "skin suit" for the rest of my life. I want to be able to run and play with my kids! I don't want these years to pass be my because I can't afford the surgery.
- Help, advice, suggestions are all welcome!
- I'm even going to.post my actually phone# plase.text only (no calls) 724-730-7409.
- FYI I live I'm NE Ohio
i am wondering why anyone would want to donate for plastic surgery for someone they don't know. It is not like it is life threatening for you to have extra skin.
Why would you expect other people to to this for you when you are perfectly capable of doing it for yourself?
nearly everyone on this site needs/ wants plastics. None of them are asking perfect strangers to fund it.
I've seen a wide variety here. I'm not sure what the average is!

I got my arms done as soon as I reached my goal weight because the batwings drove me insane. I waited 3 years before I did my lbl/bl because I wanted to make sure I could maintain my weight loss.

a lot of plastic surgeons want you to be at a stable weight for 6-12 months before having surgery. I think this is a good idea even if you find a plastic surgeon who doesn't require it. It's very common for people to gain 10-20 lbs after hitting their lowest weight, and supposedly gaining or losing more than 10 lbs after plastic surgery can affect your results.
i was just looking at the diastasis recti pictures,it does look what you said. my doctor wrote on my paper for my gastric bypass doctor laxity of the abdominal wall. so maybe it is a diastasis recti and not laxity of the abdominal wall. i did have a panni removal back in 2007 and my first baby 2014 by c section, i know nothing about these two ..
Is this like diastasis recti?

any one have this surgery? laxity of the abdominal wall? doctor said I need it I have lumps on my left and right side. info please
If you haven't done this already.. can you get a list of all of plastic surgeons who take your insurance, print it out, and just start calling all of them? I think that might be what I'd do in your situation. Then once I found the ones who would work with me, I'd research the hell out of them :D

Yeah, he's amazing. He does participate with Care Credit, so if you went that route he might be an option.
Someone in my support group went to Dr. Vela -- https://www.belcarahealth.com/blog/welcome-dr-gary-vela/
I think she used insurance because she had some unrelated health issue that also required skin removal.
I wish I could be more helpful since you're in my neck of the woods!!
