I'm a guy and had most of my loose skin on my face and neck. It's pretty common post wls and the easiest way for me to tell someone lost a lot of weight.
Its really a combination of things to get your face back to normal scaling. A facelift alone would pull too much skin for many people, hence the obvious looking plastics out there.
For me it's a combination of a direct excision around the nasalabial folds (each side of face around nose) plus a lower facelift. Then you may need a filler like sculpture.
You have to do your own research as even PS's have limited experience for more than modest skin removal on face area.
Have you ever been to a bariatric conference? It is one thing I notice. Look at the OH conference pictures- it's very common.
I remember asking my plastic surgeon about this. He said you do not need someone who specializes in bariatric plastic surgery for facial work. Find someone good at faces. I found someone close by I will use for my face when I decide that it is time.

Just got back on today. Thanks for responding! I'll keep lurking and see! ?
I do but I haven't done anything about it yet. There are a few people on here who have had face lifts - hopefully one of them will chime in.
I've seen a lot about body surgery but I'm wondering if anyone has had this issue resolved and with whom? Thanks!
Really interesting! thank you for responding! I don't know how much needs to be removed but it seems like all my weight is in my stomach/hips and I have exercised, watched my food and nothing seems to go down. I have spoken to my doctor and he may think I have lipedema so I am waiting to be able to make an appointment with a specialist
It depends on if it is just skin being removed or if there is a lot of fat in those areas. I had 2 square feet of skin removed with my lbl but it only weighed 2-3 pounds. For most people, it is around 5-10 pounds.

I'm curious, When you went in for surgery, I'm sure most of you weighed yourself... and based on what your surgeon removed from your procedure(s), how much skin/tissue/fat, etc was removed and what did you have done? I am at about 180 pounds lost from my highest weight and have had several consultations... but haven't taken the plunge yet... I carried most of my weight in my hips, stomach and thighs so those would be my focus areas... Just curious on some realistic expectations.
mine too! I wish I'd had this done when I was young - although I became super morbidly obese in my 30s, so I would have had to have had it re-done after I lost all that weight...
