Topic: RE: Fleur-de-lis Abdominoplasty... experiences?

Hi Dee, I had a FDL with fascia tightening ~6 years ago. I won't Say the recovery was easy but it wasn't as bad as I expected. The 1st week was the worst and total recovery probably took 3-4 weeks. I slept in a recliner for the 1st week or so and was able to stand upright in 5-6 days. I wore a compression garment For several months. I was extremely lucky in that I had only 1 small necrotic spot where the vertical incision met the horizontal one and this healed relatively quickly and without consequence. I was below my goal weight, too small actually, at the time of the FDL and eventually gained to my goal weight which I maintained +/- 5 lbs until the last year.

I was diagnosed with a type of dementia ~3 years ago and it is affecting the hunger center in my brain, alternately making feel as though I'm starved and cant get enough to eat or causing me to have absolutely no desire in food. It is also screwing with my impulse control which really doesn't help when you're a grazer. I've gained and lost the same 50 lbs 3 times in the past year. I'm currently ~40 lbs over my goal weight and dropping. At this time food is of little interest to me.

I mentioned this last part so I could relay that in spite of the repetitive weight gain/loss, the results of the FDL have remained with little change in my abdomen. However, the love handles are determined to make a return appearance.

Hope this helps in some way.

Randy

For those of you that have had at least 1 plastic surgery, but more foe those that have had multiple plastic surgeries, my question is-were your surgeries covered by insurance or how were they paid for?

agreeeeedddd 1000000% don't just go to someone because they are giving a "Combo-deal"... You want quality, most of the time you pay for it. Another is to see if they have patients you can reach out to to ask questions about their experience or read up on all reviews if you can. look at as many Before & After photos as you can to see how they perform their surgeries... a lot of them have Instagram pages that you can follow or even find one here or at the conferences

Topic: RE: Tummy tuck questions

I have had several friends who have had various procedures... Panniculectomy, Tummy Tuck Abdominoplasty (muscle plication/repair) and Fleur-Dis-Lis Abdominoplasty... all had different problem areas and needed something different. Some resumed work (light desk work) 5 days after their procedure and others were off for 6 weeks. It all depends on your specific situation. I also have friends who have done everything in the book, that they could have gotten done. To my knowledge, all are very happy not to have the excess skin.

I have gone to several consultations and was recently diagnosed with Lipedema, stage 1 so my treatment plan comes first, followed by surgical intervention... so those are things to consider as well... you may have one plan in mind and then need to change based on what is best in the long run!

The reason I say this is because I have wings as well that wave to people as well... my youngest looooovvvvessss playing with them. But for me, my stomach and things are what I'd like to get done first... if I never do my arms, I think I am ok with that. So, right now, I've chosen my surgeon and currently saving for the procedure! I have a lot of excess skin above my belly button, so I will need a Fleur-dis-Lis abdominoplasty and Thigh Lift

A thing? It's generally the most prominent butt enlargement procedure plastic surgeons use, butt implants are you very much diminishing. If you have ever hear of "BBL" that's exactly what that is. You get lipo, and they inject it in your buttocks, it's a lot more safer than putting a foreign object inside your body .
