I've definitely heard of this happening - really the only way you can find out is by talking to your surgeon and your insurance company.

Do you have a plastic surgeon already? That's the only way it could happen. An obgyn wouldn't do any reconstructive plastic surgery. He'd just do the hysterectomy.

I was having a lot of issues two years back and my obgyn said that if we decided on a hysterectomy, he could do it at the same time as my panniculectomy.

It didn't work out in the long run, but that's all the real life experience I have.

Topic: Panni with open hysterectomy?

Hi folks,

In the next month I am scheduled to have an open hysterectomy. I am wondering whether whether they might be able to remove some of the extra belly skin while they are doing surgery. Does anyone have experience with this? It would be a nice 2-for-1.

Did you ever find the answer? Did medicare help pay for thigh lift.? I really need a thigh lift too. It limits my mobility and makes me look and feel older. I deal with it everyday.

I completely understand. I wasn't able to see a difference with my legs until I finally got up the nerve to take pictures post-op. Before that, all I could see was Frankenstein's monster. But comparing pictures side by side? Woah. Huge difference.
