Thanks so much for sharing! I'm planning to stay as long as I can at the recovery place since I don't have the husband or mom to help me. It's the relying on others part I'm having the most trouble planning for.
Dr Carmina Cardenas in Tijuana, MX. I met her at the OH conference and she is great. Really looking forward to it.
Where are you looking?

How exciting! Where are you having it done? I'm waiting on scheduling for mine so have no advice on that end.
I'm currently day 2 post op LBL. Here's what I've needed so far:
Support person(s) - literally can't get up without help and helps with getting you to the washroom and shower.
Non stick guaze of all different sizes - I underestimated how much I'd need this and hubby's doing another drug store run today.
Recliner
lots of pillows for propping
grabber/reacher thing or long tongs. Even to reach pain meds on the table beside you can be a challenge
lots of water
wet wipes to clean up leaks/etc
Seat in the washroom if you are going to shower soon after surgery. I just used a plasti****a desk chair and it worked well just to sit and have a break if needed
Good luck! So far for me it's been better than expected

I am having my lift in about 3 weeks. I think I am ready emotionally, but can someone tell me what supplies I need on hand at home to help with the aftercare?
I am staying in the recovery house an additional 4 days for a total of 9 days as I really want to come home drain free or at least one of them removed.
Also my mom will be staying with me for 2 weeks once I am home, she is a nurse and will be able to help with the bandages and such.
Thoughts?
Perhaps some pre-ops made find some of this helpful...
I had a full LBL with fat transfer and muscle repair. In recovery and overnight I was comfortable for the most part. Getting up to pee the first time was hell - so tight and pulling. Yoga for my legs pre-op really helped build leg strength which is so necessary post op as you won't be using your core.
I was worried about nausea but meds took care of that and meds took care of the pain.
I had a shower 24 hrs post op with the help of my husband and mom. This was horrible at first. I got super dizzy, thought I was going to pass out, felt like I was going to vomit and I urinated uncontrollably just while taking bandages off. As soon as the episode started I sat down and rested and took my pain pills and slowed right down. After about 20 mins I resumed with no problem and the shower felt great. In my opinion a shower seat or chair outside your shower is a must.
I get up a min every 2 hours to walk to prevent blood clots. Even if it hurts and I don't want to I do it anyway. I cannot get up from my recliner without help from my hubby. Actually without a support person(s) this would be really difficult.
Lastly, resting and following the instructions of your medical team is crucial.
From what I can see so far - even with all the swelling - I'm so happy!
Looking forward to day 2...

I did head out to Google and find similar things. I was hoping that someone with plastics could say "Yeah, when the swelling stopped the night sweats stopped". I'm not looking forward to menopause! It's a very icky feeling - waking up soaking wet, not overly hot.
