Topic: RE: Traditional TT vs. FDL tummy tuck

that's what I think, too. I definitely want one after giving this a lot more thought. In fact, when I called another PS office today to set up a consult, I specifically asked them if the surgeon does FDL tummy tucks. If they had said no, I wouldn't have made the appt. Granted, some of them may still say I don't really need one (although I'd be surprised with all that excess skin I have above my navel), but at this point I don't really want to consider surgeons who are flat-out against them.

I had a FDL tt. Was very happy with results. When I did a revision I had it extended upward. If you have excess skin above bellybutton a FDL is what you need.

dresses work well post op because they don't usually cinch at the waist like pants or skirts. I wore dresses all last week at work

My doctor wants me out of the office for 3 weeks, so I plan to take a week or more if needed of vacation time and then do telework as I feel able. My office has been very flexible about that. I can certainly wear sweats at home, but when I go back to the office, I really should wear more dressy clothes.

have you been hearing/feeling internal stitches popping? I have popped a boob (which instantly rounded afterwards...Yay!) and one butt cheek (the other butt cheek is still hard. both are still high up. can't wait till they drop.

Unfortunately the stitch i popped in the boob is about a centimeter from the scar line so is trying to come out through virgin tissue. it is very painful, like being stabbed with a wire or pin from the inside. you can feel and see it creating a lump under the skin where it is poking me...hoping it dissolves quickly, i don't know how much more I can take of the poking and because it isn't in the scar line it don't think it will break through the skin. the other end is lower, but under some scar tissue. I expect it will find its way out. it isn't bothering me as much.

I've been pulling my own stitches that have come to the surface with a pair of tweezers. those are thinner and more fragile than the one I can feel under the skin. I suspect they use some heavy duty sutures to anchor things and that is what has snapped.

I just bought a bikini myself today. I feel the same way about the torso, in my case it is because i used to wear low rise and now i'm wearing my bottoms up higher to cover the LBL scar.

depends on how long you will be off. I went back after 2.5 weeks. I was back in my regular clothes at 3-4 weeks. i swelled up 2-3 sizes immediately post op so lived in leggings. You swell up in your breasts as well, but mine came down to regular size by week 4. he warned me not to buy bras till 3 months post op. you will be in a sports bra for the first 4 weeks. I bought a cheap zip up one off of amazon.

I also did not have any bruising..also no lipo. I'm nearly 5 weeks now, and will tell you there is still swelling and i don't like fabric on my waist still. it gets red and angry looking where the waistband is, but i'm sure that is residual swelling.

Generally, if you do have documented medical issues (that means going to the doctor to report rashes and treating them prescriptions over a set period of time) they will pay for a Panni, but not a tummy tuck.

I didn't swell much with my TT - some very early on, but not much compared to what others report. So, maybe be prepared for the worst and hope for the best?
