Thanks, Janet! The accidents are so humiliating and humbling. And the helplessness afterward is just awful. I couldn't be more grateful for my friends either!

Thanks, Erin! Yeah, if anyone asked me now if I would do anything to their thighs along with the LBL I'd say no. Even if they say it's only half the thighs. Half is bad enough. The crazy thing is, none of my issues are pain! It's weakness, helplessness, not being able to pick up anything I drop (especially frustrating when what I drop is my grabber), and currently my inability to make it to the bathroom in time, which I've never struggled with.
If I can just regain bladder control post catheter removal, I'll be in good shape. Kegels, I'm guessing...

Thinking good thoughts for you and hope you have an easy time of all of it!!
Ugh, I read this and then your next update. I didn't realize you had, had a thigh lift in addition to LBL. I thought you were getting just the outer thigh lift that comes from having an LBL. Those would be two difficult procedures to combine!
Having the garment and then all those drains must be really hard. I found the semantics of two drains difficult enough, let alone 6 (and now 4). I never had to wear the garment + drains as I was in a binder until day 8 when the drains came out.
All of this is fresh enough in my mind that I remember how exhausting doing pretty anything was at that stage. I remember how worn out I was after my first few days of showers. I'd pass out hard in the recliner the moment I sat down!

Today is my last pre-op day. I took off work and have lots of errands to run and then coming home to do a last good clean of the house and laundry.
At 4:00 a friend is coming over to drive us to the hotel where we will stay for the night. The hospital is about an hour from home and since I have to be there so early for surgery, we will sleep at the hotel and then take a cab to the hospital in the am.
I am feeling calmer today but will stay busy to keep my nervous at bay.
I was odd when I took a shower this morning to wash the saggy skin on my belly and breasts and think about that soon it won't be like this. Crossing my fingers for a smooth recovery.

Good to know. After I heal from this and pay it off, I want to have my medial thighs done and the back half of my LBL. I would love to have it done in one surgery, but I'm wondering how wise that is.

I can so related to the horribleness of feeling helpless. Before my hysterectomy my bladder had a mind of its own and I had the most appalling "accidents". It always made me feel like such a helpless baby.
I am so grateful that you have good friends who can help you even though it feels better to do it yourself.

Funnily enough, this doesn't scare me off doing my arms and breasts in the fall. But the LBL and the a modified thigh lift together is so much. And I'm struggling with the enormity of the two big surgeries at once. Gwen told me not to do thighs with anything else, but I thought since just half my thighs were being done I could handle it. I don't think I can handle it at least not well!!
