Thighs are tough for many people, which is why I chose not to have them done. I'm glad to hear your surgeon wants to see you sooner than later.

I found the recliner to be much more comfortable - I could last about 3 hours in the bed and then had to move to the recliner, which my son carried up to my room for recovery. Otherwise, during awake hours, the couch was fine.

It looks like you had a thigh lift, too... your surgeon did an amazing job with just the LBL. Who did your work?

I'm so glad that your consult went well. It is great to have options.

As far as having surgery out patient or staying overnight, I think it depends on what you are having done. If you are having an LBL or TT and possibly anything else, I really wouldn't want to go straight home from recovery. The surgery is long at best and it can take hours to come out of the anesthesia. I had a morphine pump and Valium postop which also made me loopy. I did get up to walk a few hours after surgery but it took 2 people to help since I was wobbly. I wouldn't have wanted to navigate the ride home and getting around the house right away. For me the extra hours of recovery with assistance were really worth the extra cost (I think it was about $1000 extra). When I got home I had already been walking and going to the bathroom and was much more confident.

I thought I had turned a corner the last few days until I realized today that my groin incisions didn't look the same as all my others. Despite the cleaning, betadine, bandaging etc. I think I've developed an infection - it's such a moist, close area perfect for bacteria. I sent pics to my surgeon and he wants to see me within 24 hours rather than wait for my appt Wednesday. Wah!!!!!! Why did I think I was going to have an easy time of this?!?!?
