Topic: RE: TLC's Skin Tight

I just had an extended abominoplasty (plus an extended mastopexy) and the surgeon said that they removed just over 800 grams of skin, no fat to remove. I had alot to take off but because there wasn't any extra fat it didn't weight that much.

Dr. LoMonaco (one of the plastic surgeons on Skin Tight) was my surgeon. He is just as awesome in person as he is on the show (although he is a funny guy and I don't think that side of him is shown on TV).

I had 2 square feet of skin removed by him and it only weighed 2-3 pounds.

I did not go down in size at all after plastics. I was a size 6 before and after. If you have a lot of fat attached to the skin they are removing you will go down in size, otherwise you may not.

Topic: Second Round of PS - 12 Years After the First

Hello! I originally had a breast reduction and abdominoplasty in December 2006. I was fairly happy with the results, better than what I looked like before I had the surgery. Hung out between 160-170 for years, then BOOM hit peri-menopause and weight climbed to 192! On December 11th, I went on a Keto-ish diet (you can read my progress HERE). I have lost 35 lbs to date.

The problem? I have deflated worse than EVER since losing this weight. I now have significant "dog ears" on my hips and the sides of my breasts, and my underarms and thighs are hanging worse than they have ever been. I was able to live with them before, but now it's no bueno. I am 44 but I feel my body looks 50 years older than that.

So . . . I am having additional PS on August 31st! After meeting with my surgeon, here is what I am having done after we reviewed what I was unhappy with, plus he was not happy with how my abdominoplasty scar looked:

  • Scar revision of mons
  • Lipo of abdomen and lateral trunk
  • Inner thigh lift w/lipo
  • Breast reduction revision
  • Brachioplasty (arm lift)
  • BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT OMG

About the BBL - super excited about that! I have always been squarish, not much waist and a really flat butt, but we discussed it and since he is going to re-contour my torso anyway using my fat to do a BBL will correct a lot of the loose skin I now have hanging off my butt plus round me out! Waste not, want not, right? LOL

I will come back and post before-and-afters once done :)

Pre-RNY Weight: 280 lbs (09/14/05)

Lowest Post-Op Weight: 140 lbs

Starting Ozempic Weight: 180 lbs (08/26/22)

Week 1 Weight: 174 lbs (09/02/22)

Where are you having your surgery? I have an appointment at the resident clinic at Georgetown University Hospital May 31st. I am excited and scared that the cost may still be out of reach. I also have an umbilical hernia and an incisional hernia that my insurance has agreed to pay for but the residents do not work with any private insurance.

So I have now watched every Skin Tight Episode to date: Seasons 1-3 (including last night's newest episode) :D I love watching the total skin removed get weighed and revealed to the patient. It is incredible how much they take off.

I guess I am wondering how realistic.. or unrealistic, really... Skin Tight might be making me. People seem to be getting an average of 10 pounds or so removed, and really appear teeny and flat afterwards. Do you all know how much skin in pounds was removed? Did you feel considerable smaller afterwards?

I feel like my expectations are becoming waaaay too high and I find it difficult to think about anything else. 7 weeks couldn't be longer :(

LBL, BL, MASTOPEXY, FLANKPLASTY, BRACHIOPLASTY w/Dr. Joseph Capella @ Hackensack 07/11/2018

Stay tuned!

He uses Marena Recovery garments that go from just over ankles to under the boobs and straps that go over the shoulders. It's got hooks/eyes with zippers over the top that go from mid hip to under boob on both sides. So it hooks and zips everywhere I have incisions. The wriggling is just that he wants it tight (can't pinch any extra fabric) and when you slip it down to go to the bathroom, it requires a lot of wriggling to get it back where it needs to be. He wants the crotch sewn together so the edges don't get anywhere near the thigh incisions so I can't just pee with it on.

My problem now is my legs are a size medium but my torso is a large, and I think I'm too tall for the whole contraption, so even all the way on, the shoulder straps totally dig in. He is more concerned about my legs right now, so he wants the tight Medium compression there, but that means I can't close it over my waist as he doesn't want too much compression on the incisions over my hip bones, but I use my binder there. I'm just Magyvered at the moment so I dislike this part intensely.

Oh my, that sounds really scary. He did say he didn't know if there was tunneling. I hope not! How cool that you ended up in the medical field after all of this! It'll sure show you if you're cut out for the ick, won't it!
